Vikas Gautam is an associate lawyer at Crupi Law Professional Corporation whose practice focuses on business and corporate law matters and wills and estate planning. Vikas was called to the Bar in 2015.
Vikas attained his law degree at the University of Ottawa. While in law school, he served on a variety of committees, including the Sports Law Association and the Environmental Law Association. He was instrumental in organizing a number of events and in securing key-note speakers. He was also an active participant in mooting and negotiation competitions. In the summer of 2012 Vikas worked for the Ministry of Energy in Alberta where he collaborated across departments to design an operational business plan addressing energy issues in the province.
Vikas’ main priority when advising clients is to ensure they are kept well informed throughout the legal process. Providing answers to complex situations and advising clients on how to take steps in order to avoid potential and risky future problems is an especially satisfying part of his practice. Giving back to the community is also important to Vikas and his involvement with the York Region Community Legal Clinic and the Markham Environmental Advisory Committee allows him to use his legal skills to make a positive impact outside of work.
Vikas fills his spare time watching and participating in a variety sports. He also enjoys trying new restaurants and solving Sudoku puzzles. He especially loves to travel and considers his trip to Nunavut in 2012, to study Indigenous legal issues in Northern Canada, as one of his most memorable experiences to date.
